As you eat your way around Valencia and 4 markets, you’ll learn the about the many different areas of the city and some monuments along the way.

Visiting the local markets of Valencia is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the local food culture and get a glimpse of daily life. Enjoying the colorful displays, the buzzing atmosphere of the lively chatter of shoppers and traders.

We love to take you to 4 of Valencia´s markets and neighborhoods, you will be sampling food and drinks along the way in family-run shops trying all sorts of specialties! An ideal introduction to Valencia´s food scene.

We will start our tour at the Mercado de Ruzafa a vibrant neighborhood market in the trendiest area of Valencia.

A good start of a day in Valencia should be with a good coffee. We will present you to an artisan coffee roaster that treats coffee as a true delicacy. There are many methods and tools to obtain a delicious cup of coffee, we will learn all about them.

While sipping on our fairtrade coffee you might notice the multi-ethnicity of the locals and the products sold in this market. There are several stalls selling organic products

On our way to the next market, we will treat you on the best ¨Buñuelos¨ of Valencia.  Mariano is the fourth generation that participates in the Buñoleria. As a family tradition, buñuelos are handmade with natural ingredients.

Admire the spectacular Modernist building, the Mercado de Colon in one of the most exclusive areas of Valencia. While originally a food market nowadays Colon Market houses mostly cafés and restaurants. We will sit down with the local business people and elegantly dressed families to taste the ¨golden¨ drink horchata in one of the city’s most famous horchata.

We will head to an exclusive chocolate boutique where the chocolate truffles are to die for!

(they are also eaten by the Spanish royal family)

On our way to the next market, we will visit the train station and the city hall of Valencia.

 Next up is the largest indoor food market of Europe, the Central Market. While enjoying a typical Valencian Almuerzo you can be mesmerized by the buzzing atmosphere of the lively chatter of shoppers and traders. We will show you our favorite stalls and introduce you to proud food artisans. We will try some Spanish turrón and toast with a shot of locally produced sweet wine.

 Last but not least, the Mosen Sorell market in the Barrio del Carmen. In this small neighborhood market, you hardly find any tourists but there is a charming wine shop that has their own production of wine, beer, and vermouth. You can choose your aperitif before we say our goodbyes.

Price: 45 euro p.p. for the open group tour, private tour on request. Groups are max. 8 persons.

Participants: Minimum 4 to confirm the tour or a private markets tour. You can sign up with fewer participants if we do not have a tour confirmed yet we will make an optional reservation for you.

 Time: ca. 3,5 hours, starting at 1o.00 at the market of Ruzafa.

Including: an enthusiastic English speaking foodie guide, tasting of Coffee, horchata, chocolate truffles, almuerzo (special sandwich + drink), aperitif with your choice of wine, beer or vermouth.
